Madhav Mahajan (born 14th October,1993) is an Indian singer-composer-music producer. Mahajan has lured his fans from all over the India but he became famous with his Punjabi tracks “Habit”, Mann Baawreya” & “Chann Vi Gawah”.
Mahajan initially got attention with his bollywood covers on songs like “Naina” from movie Dangal, unforgettable love mashup & “enna sona” from movie o.k jaanu which became very popular on Facebook garnering more than 10 Millions views collectively. In 2018, Mahajan debuted in Punjabi music Industry with his first single track “Blame” and later “Habit” which received rave reviews from punjabi music Industry. In January, 2019 his third song “Mann Baawreya” came out which got tremendous response from all over the India. His voice is soulful and deep which gets easily connected with his audience. With his song “Mann Baawreya”, Madhav has debuted as a music producer as well.
Madhav is a doctor by profession. But considers singing and music as his passion & his first choice for career.
Early Life & Background:
Madhav is born in Gurdaspur, Punjab. Both his parents are Doctor. His mother, Meena Mahajan is working at Civil Hospital and His father, Ashok Mahajan is running a private hospital in Gurdaspur. Madhav has one sibling. His sister, Hina Mahajan is married and is working along with Mahajan in his music projects as well as running business with her husband.
Mahajan completed his high school education from Golden Public Senior Secondary school, Gurdaspur (Punjab). Later he completed his M.B.B.S from Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana (Haryana).
Mahajan started singing at the age of 3. Although he has never learnt music formally but he started playing instruments and singing from a very young age. Mahajan states that his inspiration for music came from his father who himself sings very well.
Career:
Mahajan came to Music Industry and started singing professionally after completing his studies. Although he is a doctor but he chose singing as his profession. It was very tough for him initially as changing career path so drastically was a big decision for him as well as his family. But his family supported him as they always believed in him and his vision. This wasn’t the only hurdle he faced, he had vocal nodules which inhibited him from singing for a very long time. He even decided to get it removed surgically but that involved risk of losing his singing career. But with proper vocal rest and medication, his vocal nodules healed. It gave him another hope to continue following his dream.
Wherever he goes, he is being asked one question, Why Music?
His answer is, Music is his passion, a driving force which pushes him to move ahead. He can stay awake for 36 hours straight if he’s making music.
Nothing else gives him as much happiness as making music.
His first music video “Blame” came in March 2018 with T-series which marked his debut in Punjabi music Industry. After that he came with his next single track “Habit” which was shot in Dubai and was released by Speed Records. It got rave reviews about its beautiful video and peppy music.
His next single was Mann Baawreya” which was released by One Music in January, 2019. This song has touched many hearts with its soulful music and heart wrenching lyrics. This video got amazing response on YouTube as well as TikTok(previously known as Musically). Most people mentioned it as their “First Favourite Song of 2019”.
“Mann Baawreya” has broken many stereotypes in Punjabi Music Industry. He was opposed by many about releasing a slow sad romantic song after Habit. But he followed his heart and trusted his gut which helped him win millions of heart not only in Punjab or India but all around the globe.
His recent single “Chann vi Gawah” is another beautiful duet song which is directed by Navjit Butter featuring Angela Krilinski. This song got amazing response by everyone for being so soothing and close to heart because of it fusion music and meaningful lyrics. It’s direction is being appreciated by everyone as it has a beautiful storyline.
